Bud Day Patriot Trail and Airport in Sioux City

page in progress

“Bud and Dorie Day Patriots’ Trail”, Fort Walton Beach, Florida
The Grand Opening of the Trail was on 28 May 2015 with a 10AM start time
at 45 Eglin Parkway (behind the Warren Averett Building) and continuing with a half-mile walk
along the Trail, ending at the Docie Bass Rec Center (54 Ferry Rd., NE), the future site of the
BUD & DORIE DAY PATRIOTS’ COURTYARD (construction to commence in July 2015).

Near the beach in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, there’s a new half-mile walking trail which is a combination nature preserve and memorial.  It was constructed to recognize and honor the charitable and historic accomplishments of Colonel Bud Day who was an American Hero as well as his wife Dorie’s partnership with him and her years of dedication to bring him and the other POWs home from the Viet Nam War.

It’s not to be missed if you’re traveling in the northern Florida panhandle anywhere near Eglin AFB or the beautiful Fort Walton Beach coastline.
